2012 COTM (Cookbook of the Month) Recipes Worth Repeating

BigSal | Dec 1, 2012 06:47 AM

Thanks to everyone that keeps COTM alive. I started COTM with Paul Prudhomme’s Louisiana Kitchen in February 2010 and I’ve been hooked ever since.

I wanted to take a minute to reflect on the recipes from COTM 2012 that we’d make again. I’d love to see what others would repeat in the hopes of finding a great dish I’ve overlooked.

Here is a list from 2011 http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/819939 and something for COTMs prior to 2010 http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/660908. Last year’s list helped me discover a couple Ottolenghi recipes I had missed (thanks to Caitlin), the Essential New York Times-Staff Meal Chicken (thanks to qianning) and others that are still on my to-do list.

Essential Pepin:

Tuna steaks with Tapenade Coating
Chicken African Style with Couscous

I only made a few recipes from this one- no repeaters so far.

During Spanish month I made quite a few recipes from José Andrés (Made in Spain and Tapas) and found his recipes to be excellent.

The Homesick Texan:

I only made one recipe from the book and it was not a keeper.

Fish Without a Doubt:

Sadly, I did not have much time for this one. I have many recipes bookmarked.
