2 nights with most un-houndy family - WeHo and Glendale...

is it thought obnoxious to use that abbreviation?

Coming from the East Coast in late June and looking for something interesting and mid-range but hopefully still intriguing - not letting others drive the train this time. God knows LA proper is not exactly short on options, just haven't been in awhile and can already predict what they'll suggest.

I saw the posts on Sona, Providence, Bastide and Ortolan for Weho, bit pricey...but fascinating menus.

Totally stumped on Glendale.

No food restrictions, any ethnicity/cuisine, I'd prefer to minimize car time (don't know precisely where lodging will be in West Hollywood yet and have mapped a non-freeway route to the Valley and accept the inevitability of driving).

Can I be anymore vague? something interesting, whether that's a cool hole-in-the-wall that a casual visitor would never notice or something great but is off the radar, or even a place that's "trendy" but for a good reason (food over scene).
