1964 Colonel Sanders Rum Sauce Recipe

I was organzing my recipes and came across this. I thought I'd share it because it sounds delicious.

1 Pound light brown sugar
1 1/4 cup honey
1/2 cup hot water
1/2 pound butter or margarine
1/2 cup rum
pinch of salt

Combine sugar, honey and hot water in a pot or saucepan. Mix well over low heat and add butter and bring to a slow rolling bowl. Suggestions are to serve with apple pie or a slice of pound cake.
