Following the lead of Gordon Wing we can out the crabs available in the Daly City area. RWCFoodie and the Yimster's followed this lead.
I wanted to check to two Asian Markets in the area. We first check out Manila Market (which has been a main stay in the area for a long time) first. They too had crabs for $1.89 but they were sold out. So we raced to Island Pacfic just down the street.
The had about fifty crabs. We were able to pick 6 total crabs. I like the setup at Island Pacific better than Manila. I was able to stand next to the clerk picking the crabs so I could get a good look at the crabs as they left the tank. He was very helpful, he try to pick crabs that were lively. I was able stand next to him holding the paper bag to see if we were missing part or if the body has any problems and if there was something that wrong or if the crab was dead he put them aside. Both markets were selling dead crabs for .99 a pound, but why would buy these.
The seafood at Island Pacific was cheaper and fresher than Manila Market. But the produce at Manila Market was cheap. So if Han reads this you have to go to both to get the best deal.
Another good buy at Island Pacific was the Baby Salmon at .99 a pound. They were about 4 to 5 pounds and they look very fresh.
Eat up, I have not seen crab this cheap for many years. I am sure that the other Asian market have drop there prices too.
In close we had four crabs at 6.66 pound for a price of less than $13.00 which four of us just finish chowing down on.
