In an effort to avoid a duty on the import of potato products into the UK, P&G filed a lawsuit that Pringles were not, in fact, "potato crisps." After a lengthy legal battle, the court declared that Pringles were not potato-y enough to be considered a potato product.

In 2009, the ruling was overturned and Pringles were declared to be potato crisps once and for all. These flavors, like prawn cocktail and salt and vinegar, are available in the UK.
