The Vanilla Bean Blog was created by the hands of Sarah Kieffer, author of The Vanilla Bean Baking Book, and former worker in many coffeehouse-bakeries in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She's a recipe developer, writer, and home baker who shares her life and thoughts along with recipes for baked goods. Kieffer is a photographer of food, as well as families, babies, and weddings. The vibe is calm and accessible yet not down-home-y. Instead of typical cinnamon rolls, she creates blackberry rolls with crème fraiche. She has an espresso semifreddo and a no-churn fig + coffee ice cream with cacao nibs, ginger cake with pumpkin crème mousseline and parsnip-cardamom cupcakes with maple cream cheese frosting. Kieffer also reviews cookbooks and quotes poets, but not in a hoity-toity way.
