Two years ago JasmineG hailed Marzano, an Italian restaurant with a wood oven and a warm neighborhood vibe, as a welcome addition to the Oakland food scene.
She pegged it below Pizzaiolo and Dopo in terms of ingredient quality and preparation panache, but the prices are much lower, making it an easier drop-in spot … if you can get a seat.
sucsancinsf has a recent update: The restaurant is open for lunch from noon to 5 p.m. on weekends. She and her husband shared a late lunch there.
“Everything we had was very good to excellent,” she says, including a strawberry and ricotta salad, meatballs, and the cocktail of the day—a fig Caipirinha.
