Looks aren’t everything. At sleek, white-on-black Naya, the food is pretty much straight-up Lebanese, not the fusiony update the décor might suggest.

MMRuth recounts a fine meal highlighted by kibbe naya, minced raw lamb with bulgur, onion, and mint. She and her part-Lebanese husband also enjoyed kafta sayniye, ground lamb patties baked and served in tomato sauce with onion and fried potato; rekakat, a mix of three cheeses in nicely fried phyllo “cigars”; and very good baba ghanoush and hummus. “All in all—a delicious dinner,” she says.
