With some news stories, it’s difficult to beat the headline in terms of quickly conveying a given situation, so here it is: “Fort Pierce woman calls 911 three times when McNuggets run out.”
The TCPalm reports on the tragicomic odyssey of Latreasa L. Goodman, who ordered Chicken McNuggets and was given a McDouble and fries, instead.
Naturally, she called 911 in an effort to have the state address her situation—and the paper has helpfully posted recordings of her calls. Not an ideal use of emergency resources, but it does raise the question: Is it time for some kind of Better Business Bureau–style consumer protection hotline? Or maybe just a Twitter account?
“at mcds, they gave me mcdouble inst of nuggets gonna call 911 on them 3x lol!!!!”
