Wang’s has had the dumplings to beat in the Boston area for some time now, but crowdingthepan reminds us that there’s more to love at Wang’s than just the dumplings.

At a recent meal, he photographed a couple of standout dishes: leek pie “like a delicious oversized Chinese empanada.” The filling is similar to the one at Golden Garden, but the shape is different, thicker and more rounded. The hot pot full of pork meatballs, cilantro, glass noodles, and cabbage had a “simple, rich stock.” And of course, crowdingthepan did order a couple of sets of dumplings: shrimp and pork, as well as pork and fennel, which he said was veggie-heavy, moist, and luscious.
