“Your pitiful beer—it is as water to us,” two Russian pilots did not say. They did, however, try to use the excuse, when busted at the Manchester Airport in Britain for being over the legal blood-alcohol limit for pilots, that they thought they were drinking weak British beer.

The two consumed four pints each before their flight to Moscow, but said they were confused about the alcohol content because the beer seemed so much lighter in comparison to Russian brews.

Imagine how much they would have drank if they’d been in the United States tossing back Bud.

The judge did not buy into their excuse and fined them anyway.
