It’s a good month for chocolate-lovers. NBC’s food site Feast reports that Jacques Torres, the chocolatier responsible for the chile-flavored cocoa many Chowhounds love, is opening up a Rockefeller Center location selling his locally made treats, pastries, and possibly one savory item.

Although Jacques Torres has outposts all over town, none are centrally located to midtown. He tells Feast that he hopes to undercut the prices of competing Rock Center shops Godiva and La Maison du Chocolat, and will broadcast a live video stream from his Tribeca-based chocolate factory. Meanwhile, La Maison du Chocolat will celebrate its 20th birthday this Wednesday, November 3, with what it’s calling la nuit du gâteau—in English, “the night of cakes”—with free samples of chocolates and pastries including chocolate éclairs with chocolate cream at its Upper East Side shop. Those éclairs are a popular seller in Paris but until now have never been offered in the States.
