Tuesday nights at Betelnut bring a delicious deal: two portions of a roast whole pig with organic greens and jasmine rice for $24.88, plus $5 for a glass of Pinot Noir.

The pork is incredibly rich but flavorful, says Fine, with a crisp skin that “couldn’t have been better.” Unfortunately, it was tepid. But the Chinese greens were superb. Grapefruit-green papaya salad, from the regular menu, is also worth ordering. The house wine that night was “an adequate ’06 Cosentino.”

The pig comes out of the oven at 6 and goes fast, so arrive early.
