Formaggio Kitchen is rightly known for its awe-inspiring cheese selection, but it’s also garnering board favor for its weekly Saturday barbecues, which run each weekend during the no-snow seasons, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. or until the food runs out.

trueblu called the pulled pork and brisket “very, very tasty and tender” and “the best I’ve had in the Boston area, including Blue Ribbon.”

The pork spareribs were “good, but not in any way outstanding,” a poor second when compared with the Blue Ribbon ribs. Shoulda had the beef ribs instead, suggests afty698: “just the right tenderness, with a pronounced smokiness” and sauces that were “unusually complex.” Hot dogs are also recommended by multiple hounds.

Cornbread and coleslaw were fine but not miraculous, though the slaw is mayo-free, a bonus for haters. Barbecued beans are a better side, says gourmaniac.

Go on the early side; by 11:45 on a recent stop there was “a line 20 deep,” according to gourmaniac.
