A recent New York Times travel story about the Portland dining scene failed to mention the wonderful Park Kitchen restaurant, and I can’t imagine why. Earlier this month, I tried hard not to belt down an addictive cocktail called the CK @ PK, featuring fresh celery juice, pepper-infused vodka, and a dash of Triple Sec served up with a salted rim. At our cozy table near the open kitchen, we enjoyed a flank steak salad with hunks of blue cheese, and another salad of pears and yellow lentils in a curry vinaigrette with broken pieces of pappadam, among other delights. For dessert there was a smoky-tasting hops ice cream over apple pie. Go here when you visit Portland.
