If you’re anything like me, your hands are starting to resemble those of a prehistoric dinosaur or a piece of old, distressed leather. And this is a good thing, because it means you’re washing them every 20 minutes to prevent the spread of COVID-19. But let’s be completely honest: Dry hands are not cute. In fact, they can be downright painful if not treated with a cream to bring back necessary moisture, especially around the knuckle area.
Enter L’Occitane’s Shea Butter Zesty Lime Hand Cream, a quarantine favorite from Chowhound editor Jen Wheeler.
“It is so hydrating and rich and thick, but not greasy at all,” she says. “And it takes just half a minute to sink in, and then your hands feel like silk.”
But perhaps its most alluring quality is its scent, which may or may not make you want a margarita or a mojito immediately after applying.
“It smells just like a freshly cut lime,” claims Jen. “It’s bright and zesty and you can even smell that bitter pith.”
The tube retails for $12 on Amazon and can be added to our list of favorite quarantine products, like this $2 instant ramen we featured last week. Our only gripe is that its one-ounce size is tiny, but a true testament to the expression that “good things come in small packages.”
Until it arrives, we’ll be making this Key Lime Tea Cake in anticipation. It will be good to have on hand when we inevitably have a sudden craving for citrus.
