Breakfast just got better on San Francisco’s Nob Hill, thanks to three-week-old Flour + Co bakery on Hyde Street. Run by Emily Day, formerly of La Boulange, the menu emphasizes breakfast treats like egg sandwiches, muffins, and oatmeal. There are lunch options later, and plenty of sweet pastries all day long.
After tasting widely, rebeccakinney reports her favorites on Chowhound: sweet-tart lemon bars with a crust that’s just crumbly enough; “heavenly” biscuits with mushroom gravy; and a salty-sweet pretzel-bread sandwich with bacon, Manchego cheese, and apricot jam.
The menu includes several gluten-free options, like a breakfast sandwich (pictured), coffee cake made with the café’s Stumptown brew, and brownies.
