Mistral serves an excellent weekend brunch, with prices only slightly higher than the “typical South End brunch spot,” Chowhound user Blumie notes in a recent thread. “They do a great job and I’ve never brought a guest who wasn’t happy,” says teezeetoo, who thinks it’s the best upscale brunch in Boston. They also take (and honor) reservations.

TrishUntrapped and her dining companions ate and photographed several items, and were impressed with the menu overall. Greek-style yogurt panna cotta with pistachio granola, native honey, and fig glacé was fantastic; so were the lemon poppyseed pancakes. TrishUntrapped says the eggs Benedict featured “lightly poached eggs that oozed brilliantly beneath an ultra smooth Hollandaise sauce. Perfection.” The table also shared an order of cherry beignets (pictured)—”cute little crunchy/creamy doughnut hole-sized bites with rich cherry jelly on the side.” These were great paired with Mistral’s strong coffee.
