While on the hunt for less typical Latin American food in the South Bay, Radical347 tried Maya’s Café, a Honduran-Mexican restaurant in San Jose. The restaurant offers two versions of sopa de mondongo, tripe soup: both a Mexican one and a Honduran version with coconut milk. Radical347 chose the latter, a giant bowl with beef feet, tripe, and green bananas. The addition of coconut and green bananas made the stew “creamy and slightly sweet” and merited an all-caps “WOW.” The house-made tortillas are excellent, too.
