AndrewF reports that at E.K. Valley, a new Mexican restaurant in Culver City, meals start off strong: chips with fresh, homemade guacamole and smoky, tangy, deep red salsa. Red mole enchiladas here are excellent: complex, flavorful, and with a nice undercurrent of heat. The mole is the best AndrewF has had in some time, and the tasty black beans are even better.

A husband-and-wife team runs the small, homey dining room. When AndrewF visited, the owner-chef was also waiting tables. Service was disjointed, but the food made it more than worth it.
