Cafe Beirut opened earlier this year in the former Sami's space in Jamaica Plain, and the menu lists a variety of pita roll-ups, including one with lamb brains. The brains are boiled, fried, and then blended into a pâté with garlic, onion, and spices. The sandwich comes with pickles and hot sauce, though gourmaniac thought the hot sauce "masked the delicate flavor" of the lamb brains.
If you're feeling less adventurous, the chicken kebab sandwich is also great. jphound ordered it with fries inside the sandwich, along with "spicy and delicious" pickled turnips.
In addition to sandwiches, there's a range of Lebanese dishes here, from savory pies to homemade desserts.
