SF Bay Area
Food and drink that has us seeing gold
...do we have your attention yet? We know "best food truck in SF" be fighting words, but SPRO Coffee Lab is really THAT good. If you haven't been yet, you need to go because you're seriously missing out. Located on 601 Mission Bay Boulevard North (aka Spark Social SF), they're open Monday through Friday from 7am to 8pm, Saturday from 8am to 8pm, and Sunday from 8am to 5pm.
Although they call themselves a Coffee Lab, their food is just as good, if not better, than their drinks. Street food's not typically known for presentation, but SPRO will defy any and every expectation you have walking in. Their food will bring your tastes buds utter joy, and you'll be itching to try it all by the end of this post.
Must-try dishes include their Umami Bomb ($7.50) and their Mash Up Toast ($9). The former's quite possibly the BEST avo toast you'll ever have - topped with black truffle citrus ponzu, furikake, black sesame, togarashi chili and salmon roe on sourdough rye- and the latter's exactly what you'd think it'd be...except better. 2 hour sous-vide eggs served on top of truffle-parmesan potato purée and togarashi on buttered sourdough. Soooo, basically heaven on toast.
Also, make sure you guys get sausage on the side for an extra $3. That may seem a bit steep, but this is no ordinary sausage, friends. They make their own, and it's CRAZY flavorful with great snap. Other recommendations are as follows: any crepe cake they have, their Croque Madam, their Geisha latte, and their "V" for Velvet latte.
So, hurry up and go get your nom on. You can thank us afterwards when your tummy's full and happy. To read about other nomtastic restaurants in the Bay Area, check out our post on "6 Must Try Restaurants in San Francisco."
