As the economy continues to challenge my residence in the bay area, I find myself wanting to see and experience (at least in part) the wine country. As is always the case, a few personal complications repeatedly keep me away and I thought it was time to ask the experts for your advise.
We do not drink, so while I want to go to the wine country for its beauty and olive oils, wine would not be a draw for us. The other reason I have always wanted to go of course would be for the food, but we have a son that is nearly 2, and with no family here, and no one we know well enough to sit overnight, he would be accompanying us. Finally, as most of you living in the bay area with a family under the pressure of the economic winch know, price is at least somewhat of an issue.
Is it a lost cause as I have supposed for a while now? Or is there some suggestions of food places, hotels, and activities that can be done on a budget, with a toddler, while sober. Thanks to everyone for any ideas.
