Shinsengumi - Fountain Valley

Jonesin' for ramen and in town to see my parents, I wanted to treat them to Hakata Ramen in Fountain Valley (based on reviews on this board). I mistakenly walked in to the restaurant next door (same group of restaurants - Shinsengumi) and realized that ramen was not going to be served here. Instead of walking out, my parents and I took a stab at the menu. Neither one of us being Japanese, we decided to go with what sounded good.

Few orders of Pork belly wrapped enoki mushroom and asparagus
Tuna sashimi topped with quail egg (tuna yukke)
Fried chicken pieces with a mayo sauce (kora-age, but it was different on the menu)
Tonkatsu
Agadeshi Tofu
Grilled yellowtail collar (on special)

Stars of the show were the kora-age and the agadeshi tofu. Agadeshi tofu was just crispy enough on the outside and they went easy on the bonito flakes. Tonkatsu was rather lifeless and really needed a bath in the sauce - because it was rather dry. Yellowtail collar was good - not too overdone on the grill which was appreciated by all. The grilled mushrooms and asparagus did not seem to have as much flavor as I remember for similar dishes at Furaibo. My parents and I think we might have ordered wrong - but felt that we would not mind coming back.

All in all - a very good meal. Good place for conversation and drinks (we had two tall Asahis and a green tea). final bill before tip was $54. I will return but perhaps I need to order different items. Any suggestions?

Also, this was my first time in a Japanese restaurant that was really big on the unified wait staff greeting and the various cheers throughout the meal. Really cool. My parents and I thought it was all very charming.
