Anyone been to Longhorn Barbeque and tried a Beef or Pulled Pork sandwich?

It's located at 103 1st Ave in Pioneer Square. It looks like it could be good. I made the big mistake of ordering the lunch special today. It was $5.95 for a turkey sandwich, sideboard, and a pop. I'm a sucker for lunch specials. Great price, however the sandwich and the potato salad (side options included BBQ Beans, Potato Salad, Coleslaw, Macaroni Salad or Green Salad and Cornbread) were sub-standard.

My sandwich was turkey breast sliced real thin with a little sauce added to the top. They gave me a container of BBQ sauce (to go) which I found to be about as thin as the meat. The flavor & texture brought back high school memories of processed Carl Budding, Jr sandwiches. Not helping was the potato salad side which had the texture of compressed sawdust with no flavor.

I'm not going to judge the place just yet though, I have to get back and try the Longhorn Special ($7.75) which includes sandwich, beans & choice of salad. For meat choices they have Beef, Pulled Pork, Turkey, Ham, Chicken & German Sausage. Rounding out the menu - Texas Red Chili ($3.25 - $4.25), Chili Dogs, Caesar or BBQ Chicken Salad $7.25, and a Lil Pardnurs menu for those of us with kids (under 12).

Seating looked limited to the upstairs which has maybe 5 or 6 tables that each seat 2. The price seems right, I just hope this place can give The Hole in the Wall BBQ some competition!
