A few of you might have noticed the new, garishly colored (in a not unsurprising color, given the name) restaurant in Forest Hills.
I went over the weekend, and I have to give it a mixed review overall. The food was generally good - solid, though not exciting, French. There are a few things that the restaurant needs to work on before I'll be back: first, at 9pm; the restaurant was out of several items; second, the service - although friendly, it was quite harried, and we weren't told that the place was out of items until we tried to order them; third - the bread was flavorless - the place is French, so get some quality bread. The greens were fresh and well dressed, and all of the meat dishes well cooked. Forest Hills needs a good French place, so I'm happy for that.
I might be back on a weeknight when they're less rushed to check them out.
