I have yet to find a really good BBQ rib in San Diego. Real Texas BBQ has great Brisket but only mediocre ribs (see previous BBQ discussion).
The best rib that I've found is at, of all places, Oscars. They make a baby back rib that is a cross between wet and dry, has good deep flavor, and a nice hit of black pepper in the rub. I would suggest trying it out.
