I want to give a bottle of wine to friends who are marrying this summer that I want them to age and not open until at least their 5th anniversary (preferably 10th, actually). There are a few criteria that the recommendation would need to satisfy and I would appreciate any advice you may have about wines that may be appropriate.
- ages within a min of 5 years, max 10 years
- final product should end up with very prominent fruit notes, minimal oakiness, and relatively light- to medium-bodied (they don't have very sophisticated wine palates, though I'm hoping that might change in 5 to 10 years!)
- price range of <$40
I was thinking a beaujolais? Any other ideas?
