Very excited to be visiting Montreal from Boston for a weekend in October; we always look forward to the consistently excellent restaurants the city has to offer.
We've received several recommendations for Il Cortile as a good choice for simple, high-quality Italian (we tend to prefer the southern Italian culinary model of using a small set of great ingredients, then having the good sense not to do too much to them).
Does the Chowhound set agree? Are there better choices around town for this light-handed style of cooking? We're staying right near Il Cortile, but we'll have a car, and are also glad to take the Metro. Thanks in advance!
