What I found particularly interesting:
"Thanks to the rebuilding boom after the storm, New Orleans largely escaped the recession, losing far fewer jobs than the country as a whole. But the city lost many of its poor families and attracted, in their stead, what are sometimes called YURPs: Young Urban Rebuilding Professionals. "
When I first traveled there, I was in awe of the variety of culinary options, depths of flavors, and overall impressive food. I had no idea so many servers in NOLA moved to the city because of the job prospects in the restaurant scene. Six BILLION dollars in tourism is pretty damn impressive.
