Any must-not-miss newish things to try for a NYC expat?

I've been on the Left Coast (La La Land, to be exact) for the past 2 years, with infrequent trips back to the Center of the Universe (a.k.a. New York City). I'm now ensconced at my parents' place on the Island for a few weeks, and plan to hit Manhattan a couple of times while I'm here. In your opinion(s), what new-ish (i.e. sprung up since my departure) restaurants/foodstuffs should I be checking out in my limited time back? I've heard about Craft, and Danny Meyer's BBQ joint (for which the jury seems to be decidedly still out on); what other developments of note should I be aware of? Figure I'll drop in on my ol' fave Kalustyan's to stock up on some assorted goodies, maybe hit Schaller & Weber's for a slab of their double-smoked bacon, Charles' Southern for some non-Roscoe'd soul food, Gray's Papaya for a properly-unadorned pair of dogs (read: not "Pink"-ed), but these I already know about. Gimme the word on the absolutely-must-not-go-without new stuff I don't already know about!
