Nantasket in the off season

I think many of us forget about Nantasket once the cold weather comes around so when I had the day off on Wednesday and it was almost 60 degrees it was time for a drive. I ended up settling into Schooners where the bar was filled with locals by 12;30 and we grabbed one of the hightops where we could look out at the ocean. I haven't been here in ages and I don't know why. Great friendly staff and a huge menu even in the off season. I went with lazy man lobster that came with mashed potatos and corn. The waitress said they had the best mashed potatos which I thought was kind of funny because she never mentioned the lobster, which by the way was sweet and covered with ritz crackers crumbs and served with a side of butter. DH had some coconut shrimp that he declaired deliciousand we had a side of onion rings that were some of the best I've tasted in awhile. They were thin rings, fried til golden and nicely crisp while the onion flavor still came through. It got me to thinking, that I haven't seen lazy man lobster on too many menus lately.
