Fifteen years ago I used to live in New Jersey and often frequented a fabulous Portuguese restaurant in the Ironbound section of Newark. I'm trying to find it again! Unfortunately, my details are sketchy:
a) Great food, semi-formal to formal atmosphere
b) In the eastern section of Newark; we used to get to it easily by crossing under the turnpike from the Hoechst/Celanese chemical plant
c) Definitely off the main streets; located in a purely residential neighborhood.
d) Had its own parking lot across the street and down a bit, I believe with a fence around it. Always filled with very expensive cars which never seemed to be harmed, despite the proximity to not-so-great areas.
Does anybody have a guess as to what this could be? Please reply to the board.
