Lunch in Berkeley and SF Financial District

Hi all! I lived in Berkeley for two years before moving back east for school this August. I'm coming back for 5 days on my spring break, and I have a list of about 50 restaurants to hit!

I'm meeting a former co-worker (supervisor) in either the SF Financial District or downtown Berkeley. I never got a chance to go to Belden Alley when I was in the area. How is Plouf for lunch? What does it cost (website is curiously devoid of prices!)? I thought of Tadich, but that is probably too crowded and too pricey. (I have never been there, either, but it was always on my list.) Osteria del Forno is closed Tuesdays, or else I'd think of that, too.

In a different vein, we could try Tropical Paradise in Berkeley, which is new since I left, or Phoenix Pastaficio. Any other thoughts? She will be in the middle of the workday, so we want a place with either no wait or you can make reservations. Also, it should be a place with seating, not just take-out. Is $12 or less for entrees asking too much?

Thanks!
