I went to Le Gourmand to try out their 7 course tasting menu.
First course was a turnip tomato rose pedal soup
Then it was followed by a fous grois on an apricot uzu leaf sauce
Then a morel asparagus soup
Then it was steel-head wrapped in fig leaf on a walnut sauce
Followed by a palate cleaner course, cucumber champagne sherbet
Main course: Guinea Hen stuffed with mushrooms on top of a wine mushroom sauce (steamed veggies not pictured)
Dessert was an edible flour salad
Now my thoughts, I am not going to lie, I was not very impressed, I thought there was not enough meat served on the menu compared to other restaurants I have been looking at, as well as the waiter not being very attentive to me because I was all by myself, he seemed to be much more worried with other couples. The thing that I disliked the most, the "dessert" like really guys I am getting a 7 course dinner and I don't get a desert, I get this bitter flour thing! C'mon, and then the waiter comes to me and asks if I saved room for dessert, I politely replied no thank you, and asked for my bill. I think that you should not have to separately pay for an extra dessert dish in a 7 course dinner. The food was not bad, except the soup in the beginning was really bland, the salad in the end was much too bitter, as well as plating, it was a bit boring. I would not come back to this restaurant.
