Today I finally ate one of Larry's hotdogs. And I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The dog was a classic dog with the casing, very juicy. The mustard added a very tangy element on that first bite. The chili, had a lighter taste than I was expecting was well made and held togethre very nicely under a blanket of shredded white and yellow cheese. I really appriciated the owner bringing our order to our table. It was an unexpected touch of service you don't normally get in most places. Even in my FAVORITE place Chronies you won't EVER get that kind of servie. The only bad side was that I order EVERYTHING and didn't get any onions, Bummer.:(
In my ALL time FAV places for HOTDOGS I have to put them at a SOLID #2.
1) Chronies - 9.5
2) Larry's - 9.25
3) Carnies's - 8.75
Now I have to got back and try that 10 inch dog! Or maybe I'll hit up Chronies this weekend . . .
Reason why Chronies beats out Larry's - The chili has a meaty-er taste and the buns are steamed so they won't last long with the chili. Resulting in the Chili going every where, even onto your hands. You just have to eat them dogs fast!
