I went to King Pin doughnuts (Berkeley on Bancroft right off telegraph) last night after a long lecture on poetry. We arrived at 10:45 pm, the only time to get there, because you can watch these pieces of joy being proofed, filled, fried and......... glazed!
I had two (eat one, stand in line again) yeast risen with chocolate glaze. Nothing like a hot doughnut with perfect shiny chocolate fondant.
by 11pm the line was on the side walk.
It was most especially fun to watch the process and explain it to my friends and others.
Hot Fresh Doughnuts make me happy.
