I'm a big fan of Japanese cuisine. Sushi, sashimi, tempura...there's nothing better in life than when you've had the best of this country's dishes. Yakitori and Japanese bar food (kappo) have been a recent discovery for me (two years ago). My favorite spot so far is Kappo Honda in Fountain Valley. Their dishes are inexplicably good....just about everything I've tried there, from chicken karaage to spinach garlic to pork wrapped okra yakitori is to die for.
Recently I've found out that Kappo Honda is actually the second location to be opened up by the owners of Honda-Ya in Tustin. Has anyone tried either place? Opinions on things you've tried and which one of the two is better? I've been itching to go to Honda-Ya, but always, for some reason, stuck on my tried and true Kappo Honda.
Or other Yakitori/Kappo restaurants around OC worth trying?
