Interesting Breakfast in Dayton area - aside from Yellow Springs?

runabout | May 2, 2010 05:06 PM

Well, I have found some places to grab some decent lunch and dinner here in the Miami Valley, but am still struggling to find a really great breakfast place.

Now I am not talking about the run of the mill breakfast served at every joint in town, 2 eggs, home fries, bacon or sausage link (greasy little pork link or patty) or your basic pancakes, standard fare omelets...

no, I want to color outside the Dayton breakfast lines and I don't want to have to drive all the way to YS for breakfast...

any place that serves a variety of sausages, like a chicken apple or andouille or something that is not pork or beef grease city???

Here is what I am talking abou,t and I KNOW I cannot find a menu like this here, but just check these 3 places below out... and if you know anything remotely coming close to something that is not basic midwest breakfast fare, please share...

about the best I have seen is Christophers, and I really hope that is not THE only choice, because it is rather ordinary to my mind... hope I don't sound hopelessly like a cranky baby... but I soooo miss a good fun breakfast, and am tired of having to cook it at home all the time cause I am not so good at the cooking folks, but am good at the eating...

check out brunch for Samovar menu...http://samovarlife.com/food/
and Boogaloos is just mmmmmmmm.... http://www.boogaloossf.com/menu.html
http://www.honeyhoneycafeandcrepery.c...

you know of anything even remotely in line with this???

maybe I need to learn to cook and open a kickin breakfast joint....

Thanks a million for any replies... and yes, Columbus is way too far to drive for breakfast as is Cincy...

Thanks Chow friends!
