Il Grano-an interesting experience

Went Saturday night for the first time as many Hounds recommend the place and so wonder if they were having an "off" night...
This isn't a dig at the food BTW, as when it finally came the four of us were fairly satisfied, so won't even bother reviewing it, as it was good, but...
The place was only about half full and there were plenty of wait-staff, so can't understand the reason for the indiffernce and lack of service. After we were seated, we had a 45 minute wait to get our drink orders, and this after repeatedly asking for somebody/anybody to acknowledge our existence.
Yes, I know the conventional wisdom was to walk out, which on a busy Saturday night is a daunting proposition if you want to get fed, so we stayed and finally get served with drinks and had our orders for food taken before they could get away!
Briefly food was very good to excellent, calamari, halibut, lobster ravioli and Copper River salmon.
So after this long-winded report, I'm curious if this is the "norm" or just an unique glitch, as none of us are prepared to rush back anytime soon based on our experience.
