Good beer in cans, in Southern California?

I'm going on a week long kayaking/camping trip, and it's BYOB. The catch is that beer must be in cans. I know that some imported beers like Newcastle, Guinness, and Boddingtons are available in cans, but they seen a bit too heavy (although I do love them). I don't really care for Heineken, and IPA's are a bit too bitter and hoppy for me. (I think that's the right terminology, but I could be wrong!) Fat Tire would work, but I haven't actually seen the cans in stores in California yet.

It's for a group of 6, so I'm looking for something pretty universally appealing. Things everyone drinks pretty regularly: Anchor Steam, Red Tail, Newcastle, Fat Tire, Bohemia, Negro Modela.

I tried doing a board search, but "cans" brings up way too many responses, and the few relevant posts I did find were mostly New England based.

Any ideas? Thanks!
