Goings-on on southern Avenue A

So I'm bopping down Avenue A, and lo and behold, there are two new restaurants on the block between East Houston and Second Street. The first, Cantinella, occupies the space formerly held by Aunt Baba Jean's. Had a quick glance at the menu - seems like a perfectly nice, Italian, white-tablecloth kind of place, with prices to match. (Doesn't take credit cards - yet.) The second, Julep, is on the opposite (east) side of the street, where Mekka used to be. Didn't seem like much was going on there, but, then again, it's new.

Speaking of which, anyone know where Mekka went? I know it moved, but no one seems to know where. I hated Mekka, so I don't really care; I'm just curious. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
