Well, the prior thread on Paolis inspired my husband and I to try this local place we had been driving by for years.
We went on Saturday night and it was not at all busy (we were a little worried). The staff was young but very professional and efficient. There was even a live pianist playing.
We started with a simple antipasta salad. The salad was good (nothing special) and had an interesting 'chunky' italian dressing. Based upon the recommendations, we ordered the sausage pizza w/ red sauce (you can also choose alfredo).
Now, I am not a fan of deep dish pizza but my husband is. I was willing and open minded in the name of 'research'.
I was impressed - the pizza was not super thick or overly doughy (my general complaints about thick crust pizza). The sauce was fresh and light, the cheese flavorful but not heavy, and the homemade sausage was delicious. Not being from Chicago I cannot comment on how this compares, but to us, it was very good.
I foresee this as being our new take-out pizza of choice.
