Had a very pleasant dinner tonight at Don Juan's in Edison Park. Peppa, the owner, greeted us like old friends, the service was smooth as silk and the food was excellent, as always. We had a relatively light dinner with fish tacos for me and the fish of the day for Ellen, both were Tilapia.
Ellen's Tilapia consisted of three nice sized filets sauteed and served over a bed of sliced Yukon Gold potatoes and spinach. My fish tacos were filled with lightly fried Tilapia filets and dressed with cabbage and a light mayo based dressing.
We also shared an appetizer of seafood nachos, which, while good, were not to my taste as they were extremely rich. The included chips were great and the house salsa, a 7 pepper blend, was as delicious as always.
Coincidentally, while Ellen and I were driving home a fellow Chowhound, and good friend of ReneG, Sue K, called to ask directions to Don Juan from O'Hare. She had just flown in from Los Angles and remembered me mentioning Don Juan in the past. What a funny coincidence.
