Need help choosing restaurants for picky but food-loving guests

curious_eater | Nov 7, 2003 06:51 PM

I have food-loving guests coming to town over Thanksgiving. They'll be here for over a week and have told me they want to eat dinner out 5 times. They don't mind paying $$ for good food.

The restrictions: They don't like French, and aren't particularly fond of most Asian food (although I have noticed they often do like dishes resembling Asian fusion). And, they aren't red meat eaters -- only chicken and seafood. I guess they're picky foodies:-)

They love contemporary American, Nuevo Latino, greek.

I can't decide!!

Here's what I've thought for dinners:

1. Boulevard
2. La Folie or Gary Danko (but the French thing worries me)
3. Maya
4. Frascati
5. Kokkari
6. Yabbies or Street
7. Chaya
8. Delfina
9. Plumpjack

If you had to choose 5, which ones? Are there any I should avoid? And are there others I should consider (I'm somewhat new to the area)?

Then I need places for lunch and brunch.

I've thought about Zazie, Miss Millie's, Ella's, 2223, and Dottie's for brunch. I'm clueless about lunch.

And then, if they want to do a less expensive dinner -- where?

1. Firefly
2. Delfina
3. 2223
4. Park Chow
5. Luna Park

Any help would be SO appreciated.
