My sweetie has requested I make a slow cooker dish involving cooking chicken and red potatoes in Italian dressing. A slow cooker recipe would be great for tonight because we both have appointments until after 6 but his recollections include dumping a bottle of dressing in with hunks of chicken and potatoes.
While his mother IS the queen of powdered mixes, convenience foods, and cream of soups, this sounds a bit dubious to me. Especially since my sweetie, prior to my moving in, believed the kitchen to be "the place where frozen pizza is cooked."
Suggestions or thoughts on how to make this sound more like a recipe? Bonus points for recipes that will be tasty or won't be so high in sodium my feet swell. I have a decent stash of veggies like bell peppers, spinach, broccoli, and frozen peas on hand, as well as a reasonably well stocked kitchen. I was envisioning something like chicken and potatoes cooked in a garlicy broth with steamed broccoli but I'm open to most any idea.
