chez antoine redux

after hearing mixed reports about chez antoine, finally checked it out and thought it was good. offers savory crepes from $6.50-$13.50 (the high-end crepes contain more meat and other fillings), although our experience was that the cheaper crepe was bigger and tastier. we tried the montagnarde (ham, egg, mushroom, french cheese- very good) and the antoine's (at $9.50, skip this, was skimpy in the fillings). we also tried the banana nutella crepe($4.50) with a dollop of homemade chocolate ice cream on top ($1 - awesome). there are also salads, more sweet crepes, glaces desserts, a selection of homemade ice creams, and some french standards like croque monsieur. 3 crepes split between 2 people with 2 beers each was quite satisfying. the belgian beer selection is indeed impressive - delirium tremens and blanche de neiges on tap for $6, served in special glasses. lots more bottled belgian beer options like duvel and chimay. the bonus is that although it's located in adams morgan, it does not have the crazy college meat market scene of other places. the decor is bright, multicolored with pink elephants painted on the walls(maybe garish to some but i thought cute). nice place to enjoy a beer and crepes.
