Butler's Pantry

My 2 girlfriends dragged me out for dinner friday night..after a week of client dinners in the finance district I was ready for something homey and different. They chose Butlers Pantry on Queen West (beside Gypsy Coop)...tiny little place, but just great!

We started with this great cheap red from Argentina, it was a Malbec(sp.)..I'm picky about wine, its got to be very smooth and not have too much after taste, I tend to lean towards merlots. This one was fantastic, and a steal at 17$. We skipped appetizers and went straight to the mains, the selection was fantastic, from fish, to indian, to morroccan..I chose some comfort food, shepperds pie, which comes with a was exactly what i needed, and the salad dressing is out of this world! My friends had the jambalaya, which she said was good and a huge portion, and the lamb mousakka, which she really liked.

Total bill for 3 with a bottle of red: $52
now thats great value!
