well, after many months of walking by and seeing hardly anyone inside i noticed in the past few weeks an increase in diners.
i was just in the mood for apps and i started with the Jumbo Gulf Shrimp
Chargrilled and glazed with soy ginger sauce. Served with melon salsa and baby field greens. this was really good with the only quibble that the shrimps were a tad over cooked, but just a little bit.
next up was Chargrilled Sea Scallops which were drizzled with citrus vinaigrette served atop jicama orange coleslaw. four decent sized scallops lightly grilled and the citrus vinaigrette was a nice touch, not too overpowering the scallops in the least. the cole slaw was decent but lacked the serious crunch i associate with jicama.
lastly i had an app special the name of which i forget that was described as shredded pork (i think i remember the server saying something about Hawaiian?) served on pan fried tostada rounds. aside from the tostadas not being crisp enough to be picked up as finger food the pork was nicely seasoned and the portion size was quite generous.
service was pleasant and prompt. they have a limited selection of beers on draft and a full bar.
