Just Moved to Ann Arbor (Ypsilanti actually) and am trying to locate some good TOM YUM soup - we've visited 2 Thai places so far:
Siam Square - noteable only for having the worst pad thai I have ever eaten - actually, I didn't eat it - it was so sweet and ketchupy I couldn't do it. I will go back and try a curry, since it seems like that might be their speciality. The Tom Yum was OK but nothing special, and very lacking in depth of flavor. Excellent decor, though.
Tuptim - very popular place, and recommended to us - their Pad Thai looked amazing but I ordered wrong and got broccoli with garlic gravy and wide noodles (after the bad pad thai @ Siam Sq, I was playing it safe). also, not impressed. I'll go back for their Pad Thai which looked excellent when delivered to the table next to us. Dang!
But what I really care about is... a spicy, flavorful, distinctive Tom Yum - which I enjoyed a lot in my old locale of Minneapolis. Any ideas ?
